This course is designed to facilitate participants consider current concepts, policy, legislation, and good practice relating to whistleblowing law and practice in Ireland. The course focusses on the key legislative provisions and case law of the Protected Disclosures Act 2014 and the recently adopted Protected Disclosures (Amendment) Act 2022. The course will provide participants with the practical tools to develop and implement best practice procedures for dealing with whistleblowing/protected disclosures in the workplace.This course provides an excellent enhancement to existing and new careers in both public and private sectors. The knowledge and skills acquired will assist workers tasked with dealing with protected disclosures, prescribed persons who are legally required to be trained in protected disclosures, as well as barristers, solicitors, and trade union officials who advise and represent whistleblowers. The course is delivered on a part-time basis, online over a 6-week period. Upon request, this course is also available in a three-day, in-house workshop format that can be tailored to organizational needs.

There is a need to think and act with a more creative, innovative mindset.In this micro-credential you will have a chance to explore and develop new approaches to creativity and innovation and to reflect upon and re-imagine your own practice of creative thinking, which can be applied in both your personal and/or professional practices. The aim of the micro-credential is to help you to access your innate ability for independent creative thinking and innovation in its broadest sense and to develop an innovation mindset in exploring ideas. We draw upon the Design Thinking framework in learning how to work through a process of understanding your user/customer, generating ideas, prototyping and testing.Skill development in two learning areas will allow students to develop new ways of thinking creatively and entrepreneurially: 1.
